a)Locked phones
KnightSim works only on unlocked mobile phones. When you insert your KnightSim in a locked phone, you may see a message like this:
“Restricted SIM”, “Insert correct SIM”, “SIM registration failed”. Please contact your handset provider to have the phone unlocked.
b) Some Samsung, LG, Blackberry, and iPhone users might need to take the following steps:
A. Find the TravelSim menu in your phone menu (Main Menu on Blackberry, General – Phone – SIM Applications on iPhone) and choose “Settings”.
B. Press “YES” or “OK”.
C. Input “1101” and choose “OK” (there should be a message on the screen that says “CC OptionX: ON”).
D. Go ahead and make calls as usual. To turn this option OFF, enter 1102.
c) A small number of handsets or older style phones (5 years +) may require a different dialing method when making calls with KnightSim.
Try to dial in the following mode: *146* 00 country code, telephone number #. Press call.
How do I activate the SIM card?
Every Knight Sim SIM card is pre-activated and ready to use for calling or data.
Important! The data plans need to be activated via our website. Activate your data plan here with just one click. Please bear in mind that if you do not activate your purchased data plan, your internet usage will be per MB and your credit could run out quickly. Your phone number and PIN are printed on the SIM card. Your Global service is already active for you; no registration is necessary. Calling and texting are automatically activated once you pick up a network for the first time.
Do I need to activate the data plans beforehand?
Yes, all the data plans need to be activated beforehand via our website. Activate your data plan here with just one click. Please bear in mind that if you do not activate your purchased data plan, your internet usage will be per MB and your credit could run out quickly. You may wish to activate your data plan before your trip – and, if so, just bear in mind the time span for which your data plan is valid.
Can I have multiple data plans at the same time?
Yes, you can buy and activate multiple data plans at the same time.
For example, say you’re going to China and Australia. You might choose to buy a 3GB data plan for Asia and some Zone A data plan for Australia.
You can activate the data plans at the same time. The system will automatically use your Asia data plan when you arrive in China, and your Zone A data plan when you arrive in Australia.
Please note that you can´t activate two exactly the same data plans at the same time.
For example You can´t activate two Zone A 1GB data plans at the same time. You can activate Zone A 1GB and Zone A 2GB at the same time or Zone A 1 GB and Europe 5G same time (but no two exactly the same data plans).
Please keep in mind the validity times of data plans. The data plan validity time starts ‘ticking’ from the day you activate the data plan.
If you use multiple data plans at the same time, please keep in mind that the data plans have priority levels. The priority level decides which data plan will be used first, and which one next.
The data plan priority levels are as follows:
Asia 3GB Data plan
Turkey Data Plan
Offer Data plan 5GB
Europe+ data plan 2GB
Europe+ data plan 5GB
Europe+ data plan 10 GB
Zone A data plans (from smallest to biggest)
Zone B data plans (from smallest to biggest)
For example, You have bought a 500 MB Zone A data plan for the USA and 500MB Zone B data plan for Canada.
You can activate both data plans at the same time. The system will automatically use Zone A data plan in the USA and Zone B in Canada. Also, if you travel back from Canada to the USA and you still have some data left in Zone A data plan, the system will automatically start to use it once you arrive back in the USA.
How long does my credit or SIM card last? Can my balance or the SIM card itself expire?
Knight Sim airtime/credit lasts one and half years (18 months) from your last recharge/top-up. Your SIM card will stay “live” as long as you recharge/top-up once in 18 months.
If you are purchasing a data plan, the valid timespan is stated on each data plan (between 1 and 30 days from activation). Your time allowance will start running from the moment you activate the data plan.
